It is with profound honour and great enthusiasm that I welcome you to the Department of Architecture, University of Delta, Agbor-a vibrant centre of academic distinction where creativity meets purpose, and where the future of the built environment is envisioned, shaped, and refined.

Today, our Department stands tall as one of the emerging pillars of architectural education in Nigeria. We are proud to hold full accreditation from both the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON). This dual accreditation affirms our commitment to global standards of academic rigour, professional relevance, and the holistic development of the next generation of architects.

This remarkable milestone was made possible through the outstanding leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Mrs.) Stella Chinye Chiemeke, whose strategic foresight, unwavering dedication, and supportive management team have propelled the Department to new heights. Their investment in quality staffing, improved facilities, and modern academic infrastructure continues to shape an environment where architectural excellence thrives.

As part of our growth and expanding academic vision, I am delighted to announce that the Department is on the verge of launching its Postgraduate Programmes in Architecture, including Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master of Science, Architecture (M.Sc. Arch), Master of Philosophy (M.Phil), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D). These programmes will deepen research capacity, advance professional competence, and foster innovation in architectural thought and practice. They represent our commitment to becoming a leading hub for advanced architectural scholarship in Nigeria and beyond.

Our academic philosophy emphasises a balanced integration of design creativity, technological competence, research inquiry, sustainability awareness, and ethical professionalism.
